One of the things I like about working for what I call a “grown-up company” is that so many people here have families, and people really understand that work is not the be-all and end-all.

A few weeks ago I chatted with Rebecca Murphey. She’s a JavaScript application developer and a staff software engineer at Bazaarvoice with a 16-month-old son.

We talked about preparing to adopt with only a few months notice, her flexible parental leave while working for a company that supports their employees for the long haul, and the fluctuation in popularity of peas with a picky eater.
